Peach Rootstock
Standard - Siberian C
Unlike most peach trees, Siberian Peach C does not require thinning and is very productive. The fruits are firm enough to handle mechanical harvesting.
Although it is possible to graft other varieties of peaches onto Siberian Peach C, research has shown that Chui Lum Tao Peach and Tzim Pee Tao Peach are better candidates for rootstock.
Standard - Tzim Pee Tao
This variety is resistant to powdery mildew, but has a shorter window to accept successful budding and flaking. Because it is relatively uniform in height and stem diameter when young, it is easy to work with in orchard production. This strain has a strong taproot. Many find this rootstock to be both hardy and higher yielding than others and is a preferred choice for those in inland British Columbia and southern Ontario.
